Connecting the UK music industry with one of the world's most important music markets.
In 2026, Damian joined the BPI's music industry trade mission to Japan, representing his work across artist development, education and the Greater Manchester music ecosystem.
The mission included meetings and exchanges with Japanese music companies, executives, promoters, educators and cultural organisations, alongside Summer Sonic and industry activity in Tokyo.
For Damian, the mission also became an important catalyst for Resonant Lines, helping develop relationships and first-hand understanding of the Japanese music industry that can underpin longer-term collaboration between Manchester and Japan.
It’s not always easy to find your way through the easier parts of the music industry, never mind when things get confusingly complex. Damian responds with experience and a cool head when artists are presented with opportunities to grasp their potential and develop their audience, working out what’s worth doing and what might be a time-stealing dead end. Vitally, it’s with a sense of appropriate humour and honesty that he approaches every conversation.
